Shelby Webb
I am Licensed Professional Counselor - Associate being Supervised by Ashley Smith, LPC-S, RPT-S.
Specialties: I enjoy working with adults navigating anxiety, trauma, depression, self-esteem issues, and life transitions. I also work with children and adolescents, supporting them through emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges. Whether you're facing a difficult season or simply looking to better understand yourself, I strive to provide a warm, nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, supported, and empowered throughout the counseling process.
Approaches: My counseling approach is rooted in Person-Centered Therapy, meaning I believe healing begins with a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust, authenticity, and acceptance. I meet clients where they are, honoring their unique experiences while encouraging growth at a pace that feels right for them. I integrate evidence-based techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. When working with children, I utilize Child-Centered Play Therapy to help them express themselves and process experiences in developmentally appropriate ways. I am also EMDR trained and use this to help adults process trauma and painful past experiences.
Experience: I completed my clinical internship in a private practice setting, where I had the opportunity to work with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families experiencing a wide range of concerns. Prior to becoming a counselor, I spent nearly a decade in the commercial landscaping industry. That experience gave me a unique appreciation for the demands of balancing work, relationships, and personal well-being, while also allowing me to connect with people from many different walks of life.
