Megan Bridges

I am Licensed Professional Counselor - Associate being Supervised by Ashley Smith, LPC-S, RPT-S.

Megan Bridges, LPC-Associate, Play Therapist

Specialties: I work with children (3-17) and adults (18-25) navigating trauma, anxiety, grief and loss, attachment concerns, and emotional or relational challenges. I am especially passionate about supporting children, teens, and young adults through creating a safe, compassionate space where they feel comfortable being themselves, expressing their emotions, processing trauma, and developing healthy coping skills.

I offer in-person play therapy sessions and both in-person and virtual sessions for teens and young adults across Texas.

Approaches: My approach to therapy is collaborative, warm, and trauma-informed. I believe you are the expert on your own experiences, and I see therapy as a partnership where we work together toward your goals. I tailor treatment to each client's unique needs, drawing from Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), attachment-informed approaches, and Brainspotting.

I have completed trainings in DBT, Brainspotting Phase One, TF-CBT, and Trauma & Attachment in Children and Adolescents, and I am committed to continued learning so I can provide thoughtful, individualized care.

Experience: I have nearly 10 years of experience working with children in settings such as daycare, preschool, in-home care, and ABA centers, as well as more than two years of counseling experience with children, adolescents, and adults across community, educational, and private practice settings. During graduate school, I gained valuable experience providing counseling and support through Denton ISD's Family Center and a local elementary school, working with children and families experiencing a range of emotional, behavioral, and relational concerns. As a local Dentonite, I take great pride in giving back to my community.

These experiences shaped my belief in meeting clients where they are and considering the people, relationships, and environments that influence their well-being. As an LPC-Associate, I strive to create a judgment-free space where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered to make meaningful changes in their lives.

I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Master of Science in Counseling and Development from Texas Woman’s University. Go Pioneers!

I am in-network with: BCBS, Aetna, and Cigna.
