Alissa Pearson, MMFT, LPC
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
Specialties: I work with high-functioning adult women (18+) who look like they’re holding it all together—but internally feel overwhelmed, stuck, or exhausted by patterns that keep repeating. Many of my clients are insightful and self-aware, yet find that “thinking their way through it” hasn’t created lasting change.
I am passionate about helping women move toward greater clarity, stability, and self-trust by understanding the deeper internal patterns driving their experiences. My areas of focus include complex trauma, perfectionism, anxiety, depression, emotional regulation challenges, and disconnection from one’s sense of self.
Approaches: I believe meaningful, lasting change happens when we go beyond symptom management and begin to understand the internal system as a whole. My work is collaborative, experiential, and rooted in creating a safe, compassionate space where all parts of you are welcome.
I use a trauma-focused, integrative approach that includes Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), along with elements of Polyvagal Theory (PVT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT).
Rather than focusing only on what feels “wrong,” we explore the parts of you that developed to cope and protect—allowing healing to happen at the root so change feels lasting rather than something you have to keep working so hard to maintain.
Starting therapy can feel vulnerable—especially if you’re used to being the one who holds it all together. You don’t have to navigate this alone. I offer a warm, compassionate space where you can begin to understand yourself more deeply and reconnect with who you truly are.
Experience: I have been in practice as an LPC since 2022 and received my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from The King’s University in 2021. I am EMDR Certified and IFS Level One trained, and my work is informed by ongoing advanced training in trauma-focused and nervous system-based approaches.
My clinical background includes working with adults navigating a range of emotional and relational challenges—including trauma, anxiety, depression, perfectionism, and difficulties with emotional regulation—across a variety of settings, with an emphasis on how early experiences shape present-day patterns.
I am in-network with: BCBS, Aetna, UnitedHealth/UHC, UMR, Cigna, GEHA, Tricare,
Baylor Scott & White, and Medicare.
